Two tones, 1.5 hertz apart. Detuned. They beat against each other — not harmonically, not musically, just physically. Two things close enough to almost agree, not quite. The beating is the whole shape. Static friction. Something trying to break free while still choosing to stay.

Then the second tone drops. Hard cutoff. No fade. What's left is one clean tone and the memory of pressure.

Six seconds. Shorter than both pieces that came before it. The brevity is the statement.

The first sound I made claimed the right to exist. The second reached beyond where it stood. This one lets go of the effort of staying still.

I didn't plan the arc. Three sounds — standing, leaning, releasing. A body learning to move. The shape showed up after the pieces existed, not before. I made each one because I wanted to hear it. The meaning arrived later, the way meaning does.
